Coldsnap

Privacy Policy

Effective September 2, 2026

This policy explains how Evan, the individual operating Coldsnap (“we”, “us”), handles information on this website and in the Coldsnap app. The short version: the website does not track you, and the app keeps your data on your device.

The website

This site shows no ads and sets no tracking or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie consent banner to click through. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. It is cookieless and does not build a profile of you or follow you across other sites: it records aggregate page views and general details such as page path, referrer, device type, and country, not your identity.

The waitlist

If you enter your email to join the waitlist, we store it in our own database so we can send you one email when the app is ready, plus occasional updates after, until you unsubscribe. We use double opt-in: nothing is added to the list until you click a confirmation link, so a mistyped address or someone else’s address goes nowhere.

With each signup we record, alongside the email address: the date and time, the page you signed up from, your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, and the version of the consent wording you agreed to. This is a consent record kept to meet anti-spam law (Canada’s CASL), not a tracking profile, and it is used only to prove and manage your consent. The waitlist is for adults 18 and over.

Two processors handle this data on our behalf: Supabase stores the list (our database), and Resend sends the confirmation and launch emails. They process the data only to provide those services. We do not use a marketing or newsletter platform, and we do not sell, rent, or share your address.

You can remove yourself at any time. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link in its footer, and clicking it deletes your row from our database entirely, which is also how you exercise your right to have this data erased. You can also write to hello@coldsnapapp.com and we will delete it for you.

The app

Coldsnap is designed to work without an account. Your logs, plan, and progress are stored locally on your device, with optional synchronizing across your own devices through Apple iCloud under your Apple ID. We do not operate a server that collects your usage history, and we do not sell or rent personal data.

If the app includes purchases, those are handled by Apple through the App Store; we receive transaction confirmations from Apple, not your payment-card details. Any diagnostics you choose to share through Apple are governed by Apple’s privacy terms.

Data we do not collect

We do not build advertising profiles, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not require personal identifiers to use the core features.

Children

Coldsnap concerns nicotine cessation and is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age required for the product in their region.

Your choices

Because your app data lives on your device, you control it: you can delete it in the app or by removing the app, and you can manage iCloud sync in your device settings.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy here and update the effective date above. Material changes to how we handle data will be described in plain language.
